Announcement: No classes on November 16
Aquino declares November 16 a non-working holiday
MalacaƱang on Wednesday declared November 16 a national and non-working holiday in celebration of the Eid'l Adha, or the Islam feast of sacrifice.
President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III declared the holiday through Proclamation No. 60.
The proclamation was based on Republic Act 9849, which provides that Eid’l Adha shall be celebrated as a national holiday, though at a movable date.
RA 9849 says Eid'l Adha is the tenth day in the month of Hajj or Islamic Pilgrimage to Mecca where Muslims "pay homage to Abraham's supreme act of sacrifice and signifies mankind's obedience to God. "
Proclamation No. 60 said the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) has confirmed that the feast of Eid’l Adha, "one of the two greatest feasts of Islam," falls on November 16.
The proclamation was signed November 9. — Jam Sisante/LBG, GMANews.TV

Attention: OU- BSEM, Humanities class
Grades for folk and modern dance presentations.
Instructions: Chose only one activity out of three. Place your answer on bond paper short, together with photo (lyrics, in case of music) of a piece you've chosen to work on. Deadline of submission is on: October 18.
A. Find a painting you like (the larger and more original, the better) and then imagine it is like a body of water. Try "diving" into it by giving yourself over to it, focusing on it totally, the whole of the painting all at once, and letting it come into you. Describe what happened, if anything. Next, try this with a painting you don't like as well.
B. Choose a piece of music you like. Try listening to the cutting edge as if it were an ocean wave and you were concentrating on the front edge only, ignoring what has already gone past. Listen to the texture of the different instruments or voices. Then describe what happened, and next, try it with a piece of music you like less.
C. Find a piece of sculpture, a carving, or an architectural or craft form that you like. Touch it. Rub your hands over its shapes and angles. Let the physical sensation of it take over your senses. Close your eyes and let the physical sensations create fantasies of other objects, times, or places. Then describe what happened, and try it with some sculptural form or shape you don't like as much.

In addition, watch the inauguration of President pro-temp Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino on the 30th of June and then post your thoughts about that event on this same thread.
Note: When posting, do not forget to include your name (surname, name), course year and section. Keep the discussion clean. Use either English or Filipino or both (whichever you prefer).
