Suspension of Classes: August 2

PUP has declared over the news (GMA7's Unang Balita and QTV News) suspension of classes today, August 2, 2011. Keep safe everyone.

Regular classes next week

Apologies to classes that I have not attended lately. We will resume 'regular' classes by next week starting Monday, August 1. I suggest the first and second group of reporters to be ready by then.

147th Birth Anniversary of Apolinario Mabini

The university together with history agencies, will be sponsoring a wreath laying program for Apolinario Mabini's 147th birth anniversary. Everybody's invited to come and witness the event this Saturday, July 19, 2011, 7:30 A.M. at the university grounds.

Part of the program (1:o0 - 5:00 P.M.) is the PUP Department of History's community and extension program, chaired by Prof. Marlon Agoy-agoy. All BA History Majors are requested to take part in the event.

Announcement: Summer Classes 2010-11

For my M/TH classes: We will meet this coming Thursday. Please advise the groups for ice breaker, special presentations and reporting to be ready by then. It is possible however for my 1:30 - 6:00 PM class to be dismissed a little bit early.

Tuesday, November 30 from 12:00 N.N. to 7:30 P.M., we will not be able to hold classes due to a Department activity.

December 1 - 3, the Department of History will be holding a series of theses defense from 8:00 A.M. until in the afternoon. Please inform your classmates regarding this matter.

Announcement!! All Classes, S.Y. 2009- 2010, Second Sem

Philippine History Classes:
We will not be able to meet on Monday next week, December 14 and most likely on Thursday as well because of the university or my college's Christmas party. Nonetheless, please be advised that as soon as the class resumes next year, the next group of reporters must present their topic and be ready as well for a graded recitation (topics from previous discussion). Thanks!

Friday classes:
Most likely there will be no classes on the 18th of December due to university's Christmas party. Nonetheless, BS Stat Rizal class, please inform your 1st and second group to be ready by the time the class resumes and possibly an examination after the discussion.

The President issued Proclamation 1699 (full text) pursuant to Republic Act 9492, fixing the dates of holidays for 2009. Here’s the list of declared regular and national holidays for 2009:

November 1 - All Saints Day - special non-working
November 2- Additional Special non-working
November 27- 28 - Eid'l Adha (Proclamation 1808)
November 30- Bonifacio Day

SIS bugged!

To all students: Unfortunately the university's SIS server is having an issue at this time.

There is currently a bug where some student's grades are being misreported. Likewise the inputting of grades is currently unavailable. SIS is aware of the issues and working to resolve them.

The end result is this has delayed posting of the grades. Grades will be uploaded on Monday.

Submission of Final Paper requirements!

Submission of Final Requirements, as well as others (e.g. activity equivalent to recitation etc) with the EXCEPTION of ABH 2-1 until tomorrow, October 22, 2 P.M. Late submission will no longer be entertained and will be automatically marked as 5.0.

As for ABH 2-1, I will post questions back to your email addresses tonight until tomorrow. I will keep you posted.

The following questions are for AB HISTORY 2-1: Answer in Filipino. No copy and paste otherwise, it will drastically affect your over all grade! Heed my warning lest you fail the class!

Select only ONE (1) question and send your answer to my email using this format:

- Explain the concept of jihad in relation to the so - called "Five Pillars of Islam
- Examine the role and status of women in Islam
